Wessex
Wessex auxiliary sailing barge, launched in 1918, was the last but one of these craft to be built by Harveys of Littlehampton. She was one of the first such barges to be fitted with an auxiliary engine, and had a long career at sea before ending her days as a houseboat on the River Hamble. Wessex was originally intended to be a Q ship, but the war ended first.
Her remains were surveyed as part of the Forgotten Wrecks of the First World War project and more information can be found here.
